We are so excited for you all to join us in the mountains to celebrate our love! Tennessee is such a beautiful state with so much to offer and we can’t wait for everyone to enjoy the beauty of the Smokies. The main reason we chose this location is the proximity to Great Smoky Mountain National Park - the most visited national park in the country (for 80 consecutive years). We wanted to share our love of travel with our guests and have everyone experience the beauty of the world in the same ways we do. With that being said, we left plenty of time in the schedule for guests to enjoy excursions and attractions in the area. Please see “Weekend Events” for a detailed itinerary and “Attractions” for specific things to do in the area.

Thursday, October 16th

4:30pm - Check In & Welcome Drinks at King of the Mountain

Cabin doors open, all guests are welcome to arrive and settle into the cabin. Sami and Anthony will be there to greet you at the door and show you to your rooms. After you've checked in you are on your own until Friday evening! Check out the “Attractions” tab for more information regarding some of our favorite things to do in the Smoky Mountains.

Friday, October 17th

6:00pm - BBQ Before I Do Attire: Semi-formal **Open bar starts at 5:30pm**

Get ready to eat your hearts out because we’re serving the best BBQ in town! There will be live music, dancing, and a photographer at our last celebration before we say “I Do!”

Saturday, October 18th

Attire: Formal *please refrain from wearing emerald green or any shade of white :)

4:00pm - Ceremony The ceremony will take place on the main level deck at King of the Mountain. We would love for you to take photos throughout the weekend and share them. However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.

5:00pm - Cocktail Hour Cocktail hour will be at the house next door, Smoky Vista Lodge (the bridal house).

6:30pm - Reception After cocktail hour we head back to King of the Mountain for the reception.

11:00pm - After Party For those who want to keep the party going, we will be heading back to Smoky Vista Lodge for late night bites and dancing.

What’s in the cabin?

There's a swimming pool, two hot tubs, a movie room with stadium seating, a pool table and some arcade games! If that isn't enough, there is a huge back deck to soak in the smoky mountain views. Please enjoy!

The Cabin

Great Smoky Mountains National Park does not charge an entrance fee. However, valid parking tags are required on any vehicles parking for longer than 15 minutes in the park. Visitors who simply drive through the park do not need a parking tag. Daily parking tags are available for $5 and can be purchased at the park or online at https://www.recreation.gov/activitypass/AP2510/order

Dollywood is within 10 minutes of the cabin and is currently the #1 amusement park in the United States (ahead of Disney & Universal parks) and ranked 11th globally by Tripadvisor for 2025.

The Rocky Top Mountain Coaster is the longest coaster in Tennessee and features four uplifts, scenic views, tunnels, and 360-degree turns. The ride lasts over 9 minutes and is enjoyable day or night for people of all ages!

The MegaZip at WildSide in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is America’s longest zipline, stretching 5,771 feet (1.1 miles) long. Race side-by-side with three friends as you launch from an elevation of 2,472 feet, dropping over 1,000 feet in vertical descent. With a self-braking system, you’re in control! Ride it full throttle or take in the epic views of downtown Pigeon Forge and the Smokies at your own pace. The experience includes a safety video, a practice course, and transportation to the starting point.

The Island in Pigeon Forge is a 23-acre entertainment and shopping complex offering a variety of activities like rides, dining, shopping, and live entertainment, all set around the iconic Great Smoky Mountain Wheel and a multi-million dollar show fountain. Its a family-friendly destination built on a small island in the Little Pigeon River, featuring shops, restaurants, attractions, and hotels. A complimentary tram is available to help you navigate and explore the various points of interest within The Island. It is open every day with free admission and free parking.

GETTING TO THE CABIN

**I HIGHLY recommend sticking to the main highway, especially if you’re driving at night! GPS will provide additional routes but the roads are much tighter with lots of bends and no street lights**

From Knoxville's McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS), take the airport exit to the right and follow the signs to I-40 East. Merge onto I-40 East and take Exit 407 for Highway 66 South, then follow it to the parkway, which leads directly into Pigeon Forge.

Step-by-step directions:  - After picking up your rental car or exiting the airport facility, follow the signs to I-40 East.  - Merge onto I-40 East.  - Take Exit 407 towards Sevierville.  - Follow Highway 66: This exit leads you to Highway 66 South (also known as the Great Smoky Mountains Parkway).  - Arrive in Pigeon Forge: Continue on Highway 66, and it will become the Parkway as you enter Pigeon Forge.

All major traffic lights in Pigeon Forge are numbered. You will go to light #8, which will be Dollywood Lane. Turn LEFT on Dollywood Lane and go 0.6 miles. Follow Dollywood Lane 3.9 miles (which will become Upper Middle Creek Road) to Wild Briar Trail. Turn LEFT at the Wild Briar Sign onto Wild Briar Trail. Continue up the mountain for 0.3 miles. Turn RIGHT onto Thistle Thorn and make an immediate RIGHT up the hill. Your cabin, King of the Mountain, is the first cabin on the LEFT.

Travel

Welcome to black bear country!

Experts estimate there are about 1,900 black bears living in Great Smoky National Park. Bear sightings in these parts are common, even in populated areas.

Remove all food and trash from your vehicle!

Make sure all trash is disposed of in the proper bear-resistant containers. Lock your car and roll all windows up (yes bears know how to open car doors).

What to do if you see a bear:

Never approach a bear. Willfully approaching a bear within 150 feet is illegal.

If you do see a bear, stay calm, secure small children, and slowly back away. Never turn and run.
